PIR Item – Type Customization

Users select PIR Item – Types when adding or editing a PIR Item on the PIR Manager page.

Location of PIR Item – Type in PIR Manager

PIR Item – Type Customization populates the Type drop-down menu when adding or editing a PIR Item.

To locate the drop-down Priority menus where PIR Item – Type Customization is used:

  1. Go to PIR > Manager.
  2. Edit a PIR Item:
    1. Click Summary to open a PIR Item.
    2. Look to the left of the PIR Item Information panel.
  3. Or add a new PIR Item:
    1. Click + New PIR Item.
    2. Look to the left of the PIR Item Information panel.

 

 

Add a PIR Item – Type

To add a PIR Item – Type:

  1. Go to Settings > Customization > Post Implementation Review (PIR).
  2. Click PIR Item – Type.
  3. Click Add Field.
  4. Type the Value.
  5. Click to select a Category:
    • Incident: A production incident resulting in an impact to service availability.
    • Defect: A production defect whereby the system is not behaving as expected.
    • Issue: An issue encountered during the overall release process that resulted in additional or unexpected effort to resolve.
    • Retrospective: A retrospective item to be reviewed as part of a Post Implementation Review in order to identify areas of improvement in the overall release process.
  6. Click to select the Default checkbox to make the item appear by default in the drop-down menu.
  7. Click Submit.
    The yellow Your changes have been saved pop up opens and closes.
    If you click away from the Customization page without clicking Submit, your changes will not save.

 

 

Edit a PIR Item – Type

To edit a PIR Item – Type:

  1. Go to Settings> Customization > Post Implementation Review (PIR).
  2. Click PIR Item – Type.
  3. Click to select the PIR Item – Type.
  4. Click Edit Field.
  5. Edit the Value.
  6. Click to select a Category:
    • Incident: A production incident resulting in an impact to service availability.

    • Issue: An issue encountered during the overall release process that resulted in additional or unexpected effort to resolve.

Sort PIR Item – Types

Sort Manually

Sorting PIR Item – Types manually changes their order in drop-down menus.

Refresh your browser to sort manually after sorting alphabetically. 

To sort PIR Item – Types manually:

  1. Go to Settings> Customization > Post Implementation Review (PIR).
  2. Click PIR Item – Type.
  3. Hover your mouse cursor over the sort column.
    The sort handle (six gray dots) appears.
  4. Left click and drag the sort handle to resort the PIR Item – Type.
  5. Click Submit.
    The yellow Your changes have been saved pop up opens and closes.
    If you click away from the Customization page without clicking Submit, your changes will not save.

Sort by Column Header

Sorting PIR Item – Types by column header only changes their order on the Customization page.

To sort alphabetically on the Customization page by column header:

  1. Go to Settings> Customization > Post Implementation Review (PIR).
  2. Click PIR Item – Type.
  3. Click a column header.
    The PIR Item – Types will revert to their previous order when you click away from the Customization page.

 

 

Delete or Replace a PIR Item – Type

Deleting a PIR Item – Type will not delete it from PIR records. But it will no longer be available when adding or editing a PIR Item.

Replacing a PIR Item – Type will replace it in existing PIR records.

To delete or replace a PIR Item – Type:

  1. Go to Settings> Customization > Post Implementation Review (PIR).
  2. Click PIR Item – Type.
  3. Click to select the PIR Item – Type.
  4. Click Delete Field.
  5. Choose one of the following:
    1. Delete and Replace:
      1. Select the item that will replace the deleted PIR Item – Type from Replace with.
      2. Click Delete and Replace.
        Your updates will be automatically saved. There is no need to click Submit.
    2. Delete:
      1. Click Delete.
        Your updates will be automatically saved. There is no need to click Submit.
