The Release Orchestration kanban board allows users to view and manage their Release Activities and Criteria using a kanban board.
Manage Release Orchestration
To view and manage Release Activities and Criteria using a kanban board:
- Go to Release > Orchestration.
- Click to select a Release to display from the Release drop-down menu.
The kanban board will be populated with Release Activities and Criteria from that Release with one column for each status. For example, In Progress or Completed. - If the Release is an Enterprise Release with child Releases, the Child Release drop-down menu will stop being grayed out:
- Select a Child Release to see only the Release Activities and Criteria belonging to that Release.
Only one Release can be selected at any one time.
- Select a Child Release to see only the Release Activities and Criteria belonging to that Release.
- Filter the Release Activities and Criteria:
- By the Phase or Gate they belong to by selecting from the Phase/Gate menu.
- By the person or User Group they are assigned to by selecting from the Assignee menu.
- Manage Release Activities and Criteria using the kanban board:
- Set priority: The Release Activities and Criteria at the top of each column should be performed first.
- Drag and drop Release Activities and Criteria within a column to manually resort their priority.
- Release Activities and Criteria are sorted by:
- Their manual sort order from dragging and dropping.
- Then by their due date.
- Then alphabetically by their name.
- Change their status:
- Drag and drop Release Activities and Criteria between status columns to change their status. For example, if a Release Activity is complete, drag it from In Progress to Completed.
- Add Release Activities or Criteria:
- Click the plus button beside a status column to add a Release Activity or Criterion.
- Type an ID.
- Type a Title.
- Type a Description.
- Click to select a Type radio button:
These Types cannot be customized.
- For Activities:
- Activity.
- Milestone.
- Stage Gate.
- Decision Point.
- For Criteria:
- Entry Criteria.
- Exit Criteria.
- For Activities:
- Fill in the Additional Information fields:
- The Additional Information panel contains custom fields and tabs, which administrators have added using the Release Activity Custom Fields and the Release Activity Custom Lists Customizations.
- These fields will vary between each Plutora installation. Please consult your administrator for the procedure for filling in these fields.
- Click to select a Stakeholder from the Assigned To drop down menu.
Only Stakeholders selected under the Stakeholders tab will appear here.
- Set the Date & Time:
- For Activities:
- Click to select a Release Phase from the Assigned to Phase drop down menu.
The start and end dates of the Phase will appear.
- Click to select a Release Phase from the Assigned to Phase drop down menu.
- For Gates:
- Click to select a Gate from the Assigned to Gate drop down menu.
The start and end dates of the Gate will appear.
- Click to select a Gate from the Assigned to Gate drop down menu.
- Click to select a Forecast Date.
- Select a start date and time from Start Date and click Done.
- Select an end date and time from Due Date and click Done. (Mandatory field.)
- For Activities:
- Click to select a Status.
- Completed Date will fill automatically once the Status Completed has been selected.
- Select the Actual Completed On date. (Grayed out if the Enable Actual Completed Date checkbox is not selected in Release Setup Customization.)
- Manage Attachments.
- Manage URLs:
- Manage files:
- Add a file:
- Click + New.
- Click Add file.
- Click to select an attachment.
- Click Open.
- View a file attachment:
- Download a file attachment:
- Delete a file attachment:
- Add a file:
- Click Save & Close.
The Activity or Criterion will appear under the selected status column in the selected order.
- Click the plus button beside a status column to add a Release Activity or Criterion.
- Set priority: The Release Activities and Criteria at the top of each column should be performed first.
