External URL Menu Item Customization

The External URL Menu Item Customization allows administrators to add an external link menu item in the user menu. This menu item could be a link to a knowledge base or other support sources.

Location of the External URL Menu Item

The External URL Menu Item is located in the user menu in the blue navigation menu. To open the user menu, click your name in the blue navigation menu.

In the image below, the External URL Menu Item has the Menu Label Knowledge Base.

 

 

Add an External URL Menu Item

To add an External URL Menu Item:

  1. Go to Settings > Customization > Site Settings.
  2. Click External URL Menu Item.
  3. Click to select the Enabled checkbox to make the Menu Item link appear in the User Menu.
  4. Type a Menu Label, which will be the words in the menu.
  5. Select a Label Color for the menu font.
  6. Select a Background Color for the menu background.
  7. Type the URL. (For example, https://www.plutora.com)
  8. Click Submit.
  9. The yellow Your changes have been saved pop up opens and closes.
    If you click away from the Customization page without clicking Submit, your changes will not save.

 

Hide the External URL Menu Item

To hide the External URL Menu Item:

  1. Go to Settings> Customization > Site Settings.
  2. Click External URL Menu Item.
  3. Click to deselect the Enabled checkbox.
  4. Click Submit.
    The yellow Your changes have been saved pop up opens and closes.
    If you click away from the Customization page without clicking Submit, your changes will not save.
