Migrating IM Forms

Users may develop an IM form in a Development instance of Plutora and need to move the form into the Production instance. The following article shows how to set up the new instance of Plutora so you can move the IM form.

In the new instance of Plutora that is the destination of the IM form:

  1. Go to Settings > Customization.
  2. Click Setup under Initiative.
  3. Check that the Enable checkbox is selected.
  4. Check that the Menu Name and Menu Style match the old instance of Plutora.
  5. Click Submit.
    The yellow Your changes have been saved pop up opens and closes.
    If you click away from the Customization page without clicking Submit, your changes will not save.

To recreate the form in the form in the new instance of Plutora:

  1. In the old instance of Plutora:
    1. Go to Settings > Customization.
    2. Click Form Builder under Initiative.
    3. Click on the Form Title of the form that needs to be transferred.
  2. In the new instance of Plutora:
    1. Go to Settings > Customization.
    2. Click Form Builder under Initiative.
    3. Click + New Form.

To transfer the name from the old to the new form:

  1. In the old and new instances of Plutora:
    1. Click the downward-pointing chevron.
    2. Copy the Form Name from the old instance to the new instance.

To transfer the Form ID from the old to the new form:

  1. In the old and new instances of Plutora:
    1. Click the cogwheel.
    2. Copy the configuration from the old instance to the new instance.

To transfer tabs, panels, and fields from the old to the new form:

  1. Refer to the knowledge base article on tabs, sections, and fields.
  2. Copy all the tabs, sections, and fields from the old instance to the new instance.

To transfer the configuration information from the old to the new instance of Plutora:

  1. Refer to the knowledge base article on managing form information.
  2. Make sure that all the Config checkboxes in the new instance match the old instance.

To transfer the scripts from the old instance to the new instance of Plutora, you will need to update the grid or tab ID numbers to match the tabs and panels in the new instance.

Chrome browser’s DevTools Elements section is required to inspect the HTML and CSS of form pages.

To update and transfer scripts element IDs:

  1. In the old and new instances of Plutora:
    1. Under Config, click to select the Allow Scripts checkbox.
    2. Click Script Manager.
    3. Paste the scripts from the old instance to the new instance.
  2. Update the ID numbers in the new instance of Plutora:
    1. Open the new form in Chrome.
    2. Right-click on each tab or section which is mentioned by ID number in the script and select Inspect.
    3. Copy the ID number and paste it into the relevant section of the script.

      When pasting, put a # in front of section IDs and a . in front of tab IDs.


To transfer the scripts from the old instance to the new instance of Plutora, you will need to update the status ID numbers to match the those in the new instance.

Chrome browser’s DevTools Network section is required.

To update and transfer scripts status IDs:

  1. In the new instance of Plutora:
    1. Under Config, right-click to select the Statuses Selector button and select Inspect.
    2. Click to select the Network tab in Chrome browser’s DevTools.
    3. Click Statuses Selector.
    4. Click Get?_dc=.

      Get?_dc data opens.
    5. Click to open the Data content.
    6. Copy the status ID numbers into the scripts.

To transfer the scripts from the old instance to the new instance of Plutora, you will need to update the workflow ID numbers to match those in the new instance.

Chrome browser’s DevTools is required.

To update and transfer scripts workflow IDs:

  1. In the new instance of Plutora:
    1. Under Config, right-click to select the Select Workflow button and select Inspect.
    2. Click to select the Network tab in Chrome browser’s DevTools.
    3. Click Select Workflow.
    4. Click Edit Workflow.
    5. Click GetWorkflowInitData.
    6. Click to open the Data content.
    7. Copy the InitCrTypeID and paste it into the workflow scripts.
