Manage Query Builder

Query Builder is a pop up that allows users to add, edit, run, and delete custom search parameters including:

  • Private Search Queries: Visible only to the user.
  • Public Search Queries: Visible to other users in the organization.

Access Query Builder by clicking the filter-shaped button Funnel-shapped Filter button or PIR Query Builder button See Location of Query Builder below for a list of the pages that contain Query Builder.

To manage Public queries, users must have the correct Create/Change Public Query permission for that page. See Manage User Permissions.

Query Builder will filter the results for

Click the following buttons to filter results:

  • My Portfolio Association: Show only Releases, Changes, Deployment Plans and so on that belong to the same Portfolio Association as yourself.
  • I’m a Stakeholder: Show only the Releases, Changes, Deployment Plans and so on for which you are a Stakeholder.
  • All: No filtering.

To add a Query:

  1. Click the filter-shaped buttonFunnel-shapped Filter button or PIR Query Builder button.
  2. Click New.
    Release Calendar only:  Click the TECRs tab to search TECR Custom Fields.
  3. Click each field in the Build Up Your Query panel and select from the drop down menus or select a date.
    Fields with a padlock cannot be selected. Administrators can make them viewable using the Custom Fields customization for that page.
  4. Click the green cross to add another line to your query.
  5. Click the red delete button to delete a line from your query.
  6. Click Save Query.
  7. Select Private or Public from the Parent drop down menu.
  8. Type a Filter Name.
  9. Click Save & Close.

To run a Query:

  1. Click the filter-shaped buttonFunnel-shapped Filter button or PIR Query Builder button.
  2. Select a query from the Saved Queries column.
  3. Click Run.

To edit a Query:

  1. Click the filter-shaped buttonFunnel-shapped Filter button or PIR Query Builder button.
  2. Select a query from the Saved Queries column.
    Release Calendar only:  Click the TECRs tab to search TECR Custom Fields.
  3. Click each field in the Build Up Your Query panel and select from the drop down menus or select a date.

  4. Click the green cross to add another line to your query.
  5. Click the red delete button to delete a line from your query.
  6. Click Save Query.

When Query Builder is active, the filter-shaped button will be green Active Query Builder or blue Active Query Builder button in PIR Manager.

To clear a Query Builder query and see unfiltered items:

  1. Click the drop down arrow on the right side of the Query Builder button and select Clear Query.

    The Query Builder button will turn gray and your items will no longer be filtered.

 

To sort queries inside the Private or Public folders alphabetically, click the folder once for ascending order (green arrow) and again for descending order (gray arrow).

To delete a Query:

  1. Click the filter-shaped buttonFunnel-shapped Filter button or PIR Query Builder button.
  2. Select a query from the Saved Queries column.
  3. Click Delete Saved Query.

Click the right side of the Query Builder button Funnel-shapped Filter button or PIR Query Builder button to open the Query Builder quick access menu.

To quickly access your Queries:

  1. Click the right side of the Query Builder button.

  2. Select from your:
    1. Private Queries: Listed first.
    2. Public Queries: Listed second.
  3. Click a Query to run that Query.
