Export And Import Deployment Plan Activities Using XLS (Microsoft Excel)

Over the next few weeks, we will be updating our user interface to make it more consistent. The icons, buttons, fonts, formatting, and colors that appear in the screenshots below will be temporarily out of date.

Speed up Deployment Plan creation by adding Activities by importing them from XLS (Microsoft Excel). Export Activities to XLS to back them up or use the data in another application.

To import your Activities using XLS:

  1. Go to Deployment > Deployment Plan.
  2. Click the blue-linked Name of a Deployment Plan.
  3. Click the Deployment Activities Deployment Activities tab tab.
  4. Click the downward-pointing arrow on the right side of Import from XLS.

  5. Click Download Template.
    The template file should start downloading immediately without any other interaction. If it doesn’t, check your pop up blocker settings.
  6. Open the template file in Microsoft Excel.
  7. Type or paste your activities into the template file.
  8. Select Upload File from Import from XLS.
  9. Select the file to upload.
  10. Click Open.
    • The file should upload and the page will refresh and show the uploaded activities, which can be edited immediately.
    • If mandatory fields are blank or contain incorrect data, no data will be imported, and you will see the following pop up.

    • Click OK, fix the problems in your Excel file and try again.

 

To export your Activities to XLS:

  1. Go to Deployment > Deployment Plan.
  2. Open the Deployment Plan by clicking the blue-linked Name.
  3. Click the Activities Deployment Activities tab tab.
  4. Click Export to XLS.
    Your Excel file should start downloading immediately without any other interaction. If it doesn’t, check your pop up blocker settings.
