Clarity Integration Customization

Clarity Integration allows users to synchronize data between Clarity and Plutora.


To enable Clarity integration with basic authentication:

  1. Go to Settings > Customization.
  2. Click Clarity Integration.
  3. Click to select the Enable Clarity Integration checkbox.
  4. Type the Clarity URL.
  5. Click to select Basic Authentication checkbox.
  6. Type login and password.
  7. Click Submit.
    The yellow Your changes have been saved pop up opens and closes.
    If you click away from the Customization page without clicking Submit, your changes will not save.
  8. Click Test Connection.

Clarity OAuth authentication has been temporarily turned off.

To enable Clarity integration with OAuth authentication:

  1. Go to Settings > Customization.
  2. Click Clarity Integration.
  3. Click to select the Enable Clarity Integration checkbox.
  4. Type the Clarity URL.
  5. Click to select OAuth Authentication checkbox.
  6. Click Configure.
  7. Type a Consumer Key.
  8. Click Generate New Key to create a Public Key.
  9. Set up Clarity:
    1. Open Clarity and go to Clarity Administration > Application > Application Links.
    2. Type the URL of your site into the Application field.
    3. Click Create new link.
    4. Type Application Name.
    5. Select Generic Application from Application Type.
    6. Type the Service Provider Name.
    7. Type the same Consumer Key entered above in Plutora.
    8. Paste the Public Key into Shared Secret.
    9. Type or paste one of the following URLs into Request Token URL, Access Token URL and Authorization URL:
      US: https://usoauth.plutora.com/oauth/token
      UK: https://ukoauth.plutora.com/oauth/token
      AU: https://auoauth.plutora.com/oauth/token
    10. Click Continue.
  10. Return to Plutora and click Get Verification URL.
  11. Click the verification link and copy the verification code.
  12. Paste the verification code into the Verification Code field.
  13. Click Get Access Token. The Access Token should appear.
  14. Click the X in the top right corner to close the pop up.
  15. Click Submit.
    The yellow Your changes have been saved pop up opens and closes.
    If you click away from the Customization page without clicking Submit, your changes will not save.
  16. Click Test Connection.

Once you have authenticated with Clarity, you can sync with Plutora. Clarity issues can be saved into Releases, Changes, TECRs or TEBRs.

When syncing is set up, as items change in Clarity they will be synced with Plutora. This process will also happen in reverse if you click the Push to Clarity checkbox.

To sync from  Clarity:

  1. Go to Settings > Customization.
  2. Click Clarity Integration.
  3. Set the sync rate by selecting a time (in seconds) from Period (seconds).
  4. Click Expression Builder to create queries.
    1. Click Add Statement.

    2. Click to select each drop down menu and choose a data field.
    3. Click the red delete button to remove a statement.
    4. Click Save & Close.
  5. Click Refresh Clarity Fields.
  6. Click to select the Auto Sync checkbox under each tab.
  7. Click to select the Push to Clarity checkbox under each tab if you would like changes in Plutora to be sent back to Clarity.
  8. Click to select Clarity Projects from Clarity Project.
  9. Click Refresh Clarity Fields again.
    Selected Clarity Projects appear as tabs.

  10. Select  Clarity Fields from the drop down menus beside the Plutora fields where the data should go.
    For example, to import Clarity systems into Plutora, click Release tab, select Clarity systems for the Plutora Systems (Impacted) and Systems (Regressions) fields.
  11. Click Submit.
    The yellow Your changes have been saved pop up opens and closes.
    If you click away from the Customization page without clicking Submit, your changes will not save.
  12. View log files by clicking View Log.
